Meet Kristen

I’m a functional nutritionist for menstruators who are craving a more intuitive approach to health.
I use a holistic, weight-inclusive approach in my practice that considers your lived experience and all the personal, environmental, and systemic factors that brought you here today. You deserve to be cared for as the beautiful human you are, not as a machine.
I offer nutrition services through 1:1 private coaching and my SYNC membership, and offer accessible education through my online workshops, podcast, and blog.
Please see my VALUES for more on what my company and I stand for.
What I Do
I help people repair their hormones and their relationship with food through strategies that strengthen their mindset, intuition, and self-trust. We do this together through a tailored approach covering your habits, your meals, and your mindset. I’m your partner, cheerleader, and guide committed to helping you navigate emotional eating, necessary dietary restrictions, or other health issues while nurturing a positive relationship with food.
Personally, I’m a lifelong New Englander with permanent roots in Boston with my partner of 10 years. What do I do here? I’m a live music enthusiast, bookworm, chronic tweeter, ’90s grunge devotee, tarot reader, museum goer, and tea drinker. I’m also a quintuple Virgo with a Sag moon and 12th house stellium (+INFJ) ✨
My Philosophy
I believe in letting your body lead. Developing and working with your intuition is fundamental to the work that we do together in getting off the diet rollercoaster and trusting yourself again. I also believe that you are the expert in your own body. Not me.
But I can help guide you, help you understand your body’s language, help you learn about your cycle and be a more effective advocate for yourself.
I can be a teacher, but I’m not your master. I never liked the idea of having “authority” over clients, or having a goal of “retaining” clients. Progress isn’t linear, and I’m always here for you at different points in your journey, but my goal is never for you to need me forever. I’m here to help you discover your own superpowers.
If all of this feels in alignment, I invite you to fill out this application to work together and if it feels like it might be a good match, I’ll be in touch to start the conversation.

FAQ
Functional nutrition focuses on the root cause of imbalance and illness in the body, rather than addressing symptoms alone. We look at a variety of factors that may contribute to your health such as genetics, environment, lifestyle, etc. — it is a holistic, systems-oriented approach that seeks to help you reestablish or move towards optimal health.
I want to be fully transparent with you — I do not focus on weight loss with my clients.
Almost every single client comes to me with this goal—it’s okay! But intentional weight loss simply does not work; we both know it, and boatloads of research supports it. Our work together focuses on listening to your body and practicing health-promoting behaviors. This may or may not affect your weight, but it will positively affect your wellbeing when it’s no longer your main goal. I’m sure that sounds scary! But what’s scarier is all the time and energy and life spent so focused on weight instead of important moments, joys, and pleasures.
I am able to help you implement doctor recommendations, however, weight is not an accurate marker of health (there are plenty of sick thin people out there). Nor is BMI, which was actually created by an astronomer(!) and was never meant to be used the way it is in current healthcare settings. What’s more important are health behaviors and other determinants like access to food, proper health care, and genetics. I can help you communicate with your care team and implement changes that fit with your unique body and lifestyle.
No, sorry! My approach focuses on really getting in tune with your body so you have the tools and resources to do this on your own. I am happy to offer recipes ideas and suggest foods for you, but only you know what feels good in your body. That doesn’t mean you won’t have structure if that’s what you need! I will guide you towards creating that structure for yourself, which is much more sustainable.
