In my past work life, I’d either be running around all day or on the computer all day – better yet, I’d combine the two and work on my phone while in an Uber going to my next client. Meals were not a priority – and having one away from my computer? Please. I loved my job but constantly being on-the-go was eating away at me, I was depressed, tired all the time, moody.
As I became more interested in fitness I also got on the healthy-eating train (before I was certified by ACN), and learned about meal planning. I tried it out for myself and WOW what a difference it made in my energy throughout the day! My meals were already there for me, so there was no excuse to do my usual: only have a granola bar at 10:00 on my way out the door then forget to eat until 4:00 when I stop in CVS for a packaged sandwich and crackers or spend $12 on a takeout salad.
Once I started eating better and not relying on pre-packaged foods, I felt the effects within days. I felt more awake in the mornings, more motivated to work out after work, and less annoyed with everyone around me. Cooking deeply relaxed me as well.
